Flash Back Friday!

Via: Source
To begin with, I'm not sure how we even started looking up commercials and shows that were from my childhood, but last night my wife and I sat on our couch with our kids and showed them what television was like in the 80's and early 90's. I never realized how awesome my childhood television was. the shows and cartoons had actual plot lines and there was a moral to each story. Not like the crazy non-sense they have now-a-days. It's like they think our kids are dumb and can't follow a plot? The best part was: NO MEDICATION COMMERCIALS!!! I hate those commercials.

Check out what I came across, this blog couldn't have put it any better:

BORN in the 80′s. We are the last generation who learned to play in the street, we are the 1st who played video games, the last to record songs off the radio on cassettes, the pioneers of Walkman’sand chat rooms. We Learned how to program the VCR before anyone else, play from the Atari, to Super Nintendo. We are the generation of the Power Rangers, “NINJA TURTLES”, Gumby, Saved by the Bell, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Traveled in cars without seat belts or air-bags and lived without cell phones. We did not have flat screens, surround sound, iPods, Facebook, Twitter, computers & the Internet… but nevertheless we had a GREAT time…That’s what i call the good  old days! - AceSmooth

Here's a cool video that will have you feeling very nostalgic...or give you a greater understanding of my childhood:

Commercials were EPIC!!! gotta love those jingles...and News telling us seat belts were dangerous! And no stupid medical/pharmacy commercials!! I swear were all a bunch of hypochondriacs now.

My favorite is the Pogo Ball...you never jumped that high like the commercial...but thought you did!

In tribute to Flash back Friday here's a couple pictures...you will only see once!!

This is me and my brother cir. 1984

And this is me, giving myself bunny ears. I don't know what is wrong with my hair. I think this was on my 10th birthday which makes it 1991....lol
Do you have any memories of shows or toy's you loved back then? For me it was Barbie, My Little Pony, Cabbage Patch dolls, Hello Kitty, Magic Nursery Baby, Little Miss Makeup...and the list goes on!

I hope you all had a great week and have lots of stuff planned for the weekend!

Have a great day!

Kitten Love

This is our newest family member! She goes by a couple different names but mostly Cupcake. Cupcake is 6 weeks old and was born on Apr. 18th. Her mommy and daddy live on a farm down the road, where she was born in a barn, that was filled with cows. Her favorite thing to do is get curled up in my hair and fall asleep. She loves to play! she has her dew claws and my son says it's for plying video games. She basically spends all day melting our hearts.

Send Something Good Project

Hello, Hello Kitty!

Okay, I haven't blogged for a couple days and it feels like forever!!! Trust me I have a couple valid excuses and you will see in tomorrow's blog, one of them. Anyway, a while back I mentioned that I joined a huge blogger swap. It was a lot of fun too! When I received my package I freaked out!! Natasha at Don't think or judge, just listen got it right! Even though I'm in my 30's, little Eeka shines through....and anything pink & Hello Kitty wins my heart! This totally made my day, especially since my family and I are going through some really hard financial times.

Of course when my daughter saw everything she immediately thought it was for her...and then went on about how she wishes she was older so she could buy cool stuff. I love this plaque...so adorable!

These greeting cards are amazing too! She picked out the perfect set for me...and I love that they are blank inside! I love to send and receive cards and postcards. Hopefully I can get a post together soon of all the cards and post cards I received in the last few months.

This design is my favorite. I love trees and blossoms especially pink ones.

This little box set is really sweet. I don't want to open it! I collect HK items and I probably will keep this in it's mint condition.
Thank you Natasha!!

For my package I sent a vintage Teddy Bear (mint condition and 30 yrs old),an Owl Necklace, and a crocheted headband with a greeting card. I know it wasn't much, but I wasn't expecting to get laid off when I signed up to Swap,I did my best. I hope Leila at Confection enjoyed her package.
